Sevil Soyer (Gürler)

She was born in Turkey. She graduated from Mimar Sinan University, the Fine Arts Faculty, in Istanbul. She started to exhibit her artwork before her graduation. Sevil Soyer is an award-winning Artist and her art works have been exhibited worldwide. She has established a distinguished career as a result of her talent. She founded, organized and directed the first INTERDISCIPLINARY ART PERFORMANCE in Istanbul in 1994 and it was also the 1st interdisciplinary art work in the world. The Cultural Minister of Turkey supported this activity. She created the 2nd Interdisciplinary Art Performance in Michigan, USA, in 2003. She is still the volunteer advisor of the Turquoise Art Gallery in Michigan. She is one of the well-known artist in the world with her installations and interdisciplinary art.

She is not only interested in art but also in other disciplines like philosophy, psychology, technology, ancient civilizations, theology, mythology, music, mysticism, anatomy and so forth…..It would be unfair to consider Sevil as an artist who is simply interested in a single technique in her works. The variety of her interests, as mentioned above, has been a motive for her to research and experiment further.
